Comparison of health insurance systems in the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany

Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Thema "Vergleich der Krankenversicherungssysteme in der Tschechischen Republik und in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland". Zwischen den gesetzlichen Krankenversicherungssystemen der Tschechischen Republik und der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bestehen viele Unterschiede und Besonderheiten. Es zeigt sich, dass beide Systeme auch eine ganze Reihe von gemeinsamen Aspekten aufweisen. Die Arbeit besteht aus sieben Kapiteln, wobei sich jedes Kapitel einem besonderen Aspekt der gesetzlichen Krankenversicherung widmet. Im ersten Kapitel wird eine historische Entwicklung erklärt, wobei im Unterabschnitt 1 dieses Kapitels die historische Entwicklung in der Tschechischen Republik behandelt wird, während der Unterabschnitt 2 sich der Entwicklung in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland widmet. Das zweite Kapitel setzt sich mit der rechtlichen Regelung beider Staaten auseinander. Dieses Kapitel ist in zwei Teile untergliedert, wobei der erste Teil sich mit der Regelung in der Tschechischen Republik beschäftigt und der zweite Teil die Situation in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland beschreibt. The source text is composed of five chapters from the book Les systèmes de santé en Europe, the authors of this text are Marc Duriez and Diane Lequet-Slama. The commentary analyses the translated text and afterwards it presents the method of translation and also the translation procedures.

Diabetes mellitus 1. typu u žáků základních škol - vybrané společenskovědní aspekty

This bachelor thesis deals with changes that occur when diabetes mellitus type 1 is found out in children (younger and older) in their school age. What impact of disease is on child himself, his parents or relatives and if his situation at school is affected as well. In the theoretical part I mention basic information about this metabolic disease and I try to describe some of the problems which are connected with this chronic illness. How the life of family changes especially the patient´s one itself. What difficulties and complications are possible and what measures are suitable for school and after-school care of such a child. The aim of this thesis is to describe mentioned themes using case interpretations. Interviews and questionnaire surveys with patients or their relatives will be carried out as a metodology. I find expert analysis of paediatric diabetologists to be very important. Finally the goal of this thesis is attempt to look up possible generalizations of this disease from different points of view - individual perception and experience of particular respondents.

Analysis of costs of patients with diabetes 2 in the Czech statutory health insurance system

This thesis examines costs of type 2 diabetes for health insurance companies and occurrence of this disease in Czech Republic. Diabetes mellitus is a serious chronical disease, the prevalence and treatment costs of which have raised over last few years all over the world, while capturing a large part of expenditures of health systems. The aim of this study is to introduce particular methods that may be used to identify individuals with diabetes from available datasets and subsenquently analyze the expenses from the view of Czech health insurance companies. Studies published to date does not seem to be relevant anymore or they examine a small sample of patients. The thesis should provide accurate and actual information since it uses datasets from 2015 provided by health insurance companies and data containing individual costs of policyholders. In order to identify diabetics two approaches are used - diagnosis and various quantities of drug consumption of typical pharmaceuticals. The study implies that the costs of the treatment of diabetes fall between 19 and 44 billion CZK annualy depending on applied method. Factors Impacting the Health Insurance Company in the Years 2004-2012 in the Context of the Health Insurance System in the Czech Republic

The main aim of my dissertation Factors influencing the management of health insurance in 2004 2012 in the context of health insurance in The Czech Republic - was to identify and categorize the factors that affect the management of the chosen health insurance in 2004 2012 with the respect to existing system of health insurance. The first assessed year was 2007 because of unavailability of data in 2004 - 2007. My dissertation is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is devoted to the principles of health insurance, the legal relations of health insurance, the current system of public health insurance and the effects influencing the health insurance balance. The practical part deals with designated health insurance and its organizational structure, its management methods, the income side of the balance sheet, the expediture side of the balance and finally the ratings balance of the specific health insurance. The factors which affect this side of the balance were analysed in detail at the income side. Among these factors were included: trends in the number of policyholders, the development of receivables, the problems of "state policyholders", macroeconomic index and the redistribution system. The expediture balance was mainly focused on the cost of health care and preventive care. In conclusion the balance of one of the health insurance companies was evaluated in the selected years.

Monitoring of prevention programs and activities promoting public health by health insurance companies

Public health insurance system is compulsory for all people permanently living in the Czech Republic as well as for foreigners who work here. Insurance begins with the day of birth, with the day of obtaining permanent residence or if a foreigner who does not have a permanent residence in the area of Czech Republic, has become an employee here. Insurance expires with the citizen´s death, with the end of their permanent residence, or if the citizen without a permanent residence has ended their employment in the Czech Republic. Nowadays, there are seven health insurance companies that may pay different health services beyond paid health care from prevention funding, thus offer their clients a range of contributions. The aim of this thesis is to find out whether prevention programmes offered by individual health insurance companies differ, and whether using of the offered benefits for health support differs according to clients´gender and education, and whether the frequency of changing health insurance company depends on the client´s gender. I have created a non-standardized questionnaire with 18 questions to refute or confirm my hypotheses, and thus evaluate the aims of my thesis. Testing of my hypotheses happened via the chi-quadrat test, where I found out that using of the offered benefits (financial aid provided beyond public insurance for health support) differs according to gender, but does not differ according to the clients´ education. I have also found out that the frequency of changing health insurance company does not depend on the client´s gender. Comparing prevention programmes of different health insurance companies has made me conclude that benefits differ, and thus it is up to the client to decide at which health insurance company to insure themselves. Whether they follow the offered benefit spectre or the fact that the insurance company has entered a contract with their doctor.

Long-term sustainability of health financing in the Czech Republic

The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to propose suggestions which would raise the income of healthcare in the Czech Republic. The sub-objective is analysis of the factors affecting revenue and expenditure of the health insurance. The thesis consists of two theoretic chapters which outline issues of healthcare funding and premiums for public health insurance. The practical part concentrates on analysis of the factor affecting revenue and expenditure of the health insurance and presents suggestion which would raise the income of healthcare in the Czech Republic.
